The cabins were pretty well maintained, most have been updated, very limited parking. This is a very pretty location, the prices are reasonable, the little shop is very well stocked, and the cabins are nice to look at, so it is definitely not all complaints. convictlakeresort. We tried to sit out on the porch, but the neighbors kept smoking, so we could not enjoy the lovely scenery. Many sites are flat and sutable for RVs however hookups are not available. From Bishop, travel north on 395. Most sites are suitable for RVs, but full hookups are not available.
sleep early while we stay up to watch tv, however in this cabin, the tv is easily heard and viewed from the upper loft, where you'd put your noisy kids. The sites are a little close together but with vegetation around, it feels a little more private. Turn west off of Highway 395. About half the sites can be reserved. Enjoy interesting hiking trails leading into the Sierra Nevada. There are other sites closer to the front that may make cycling to the lake easier and we might check those out on our next visit. The nearby Convict Lake Resort has lodging, a restaurant, a store, a marina with boat rentals, and guided horseback rides. I could barely reach the lowest of the kitchen cabinets. Convict Lake Camping. No hookups, but clean restrooms with flush toilets. It was great. The Laurel Ridge Vacation Home is our most luxurious house with 360 degree views of Morrsion Loop. I would stay there again and look into one of the larger cabins that can hold entire families. Will come back again and again! Nearby attractions include Convict Lake (0.07 miles), Hot Creek (4.5 miles), and McGee Creek (3.8 miles). Stayed in the cabins rented for daughters wedding. I really wish they had a cabin with two rooms, both with doors, so we could travel up with other adult couples more often.
Beds needed more nightstands for glasses, water, book, lamp, etc. Especially when it’s prime time. The roads to reach the cabins are crappy, with potholes, ruts and no signage to help find your place. Convict Lake Campground is about 34 miles north of Bishop on Highway 395. The maximum length of stay at Convict Lake Campground is 7 days. Convict Lake has become my happy place.
